Fucking California...

STUPID FUCKERS!!!!

OBAMA WINS! GAYS LOSE! NOW WHAT?

After a heated, divisive campaign, fueled by a record $73 million of spending, California voters backed Proposition 8, which would change the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage...
FUCK YOU...This is why i hate all things political.
A friend that lives in the states in L.A just told me that it's very confusing the way it's written on ballot. So with Half of California being English as a second Language and some people just not really understanding the way it was written, THEY WERE DOOMED FROM THE START. It really pissed me off. They would rather spend even more money to keep two loving people apart, than to JUST LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!!!!
So I wonder if the thousands of couples there are going to have their licenses taken away...
You can't marry the one you love but you have to pay taxes and shit...FUCK OFF!!!!

So true. What more can be said? It's fucked up. Thousands of people getting all riled up, spending millions campaigning just so other people, people who have committed no worse crime than to fall in love, can't get married. Why???

What have they won? These ecstatic "Yes on 8" suits in the newspaper pictures — what have they gained? What enemy have they conquered?

It's fucking fucked up.

This ban made it in Florida too. The way analysts predicted it is that the religious minorities (Blacks, Spanish & Creole) that went for Obama would vote to ban same-sex marriage in Florida. I'd be willing to be it's more of that in California.

Unbelievable. I'm proud and disappointed in my country at the same time. The people who voted for these amendments need to take a moment and think about what they just did. They have voted to discriminate against their neighbors, their friends, their co-workers, and yes in many cases their own family members. To deny them the same legal protections they have for their own families. It disappoints me that some people cannot get beyond their own personal prejudice and religious beliefs to actually consider what is fair under the law. They have accomplished nothing except to hurt and demean many of their fellow citizens. No one's "traditional marriage" has been protected by this nonsense.

Yes it's true. Obama won with overwhelming support for African-American (94%) and Latino voters, yet in California, a good majority of those very same African-Americans (70%) and Latinos (52%) voted "yes" on Prop. 8 (Whites were at 48%). A language-barrier was not the culprit since ballots and reading materials are printed in Spanish, Armenian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Korean, etc.

The fact is, Blacks and Latinos are traditionally socially conservative and super religious, and their church leaders were very active in persuading them to support the gay marriage ban.
